December 2011 Phasiani lacus Manerium Comes of Age

Our server from Gasthaus, at the Phasiani lacus Manerium annual yule feast that taken place on December 18th 2011from 17:30 hours PET and completed around 21:30 hours. Shown here from left to right - Bob the Guilty, Thomas of Appledores mother, Thomas of Appledore, and a guest of Bob the Guilty.


Following the traditional standards of the middle ages, we of the Gasthaus on the Lake will begin the feast with soup that satified 14th century families. Wholesome and hearty, heated in our castle-sized fireplace and served piping hot right out of the kettle. Homemade bread will be served to soak up the broth.


Gasthaus on the Lake royal feast, served at the table in our gigantic Gasthaus pan will satify the greatest of kings. The main feast features month watering ribs, succulent duck, and Gasthaus famous schnitzel, tender pork chops, Nuremberg bratwurst, rotisserie chicken, roasted pork and the list goes on. Keeping with western world's idea of nutrition, red cabage, and sauerkraut will be consumed on flat tin place. For moder the Gasthaus' famous spaetzle noodles, dumplings and roasted potatoes are sure to please the hungriest of travelers. The royal feast, in the traditional manner, is provided in a spectacular and cosy setting including the server in costume.


In Gasthaus all you can eat evening prepared by the valley's finest in European dining will be finished off with homemade apple fritters with ice cream, leaving ample time for laughter, and bardic, and music. Wines and ales are available throughout the feast while a special apple digestif served to those who have indulged. The goal of Gasthaus is to make sure that no nobleman or lady of the realm will be left wanting more.

The guest of Phasiani lacus Manerium for its annual non Adrain, Connacht, SCA event. Plans are underway for Jan 2013 for our traditional yule feast. For those interested please contact Lady Christiana for information and cost. Please note that a min of ten people are required, and if the min is not reach the event for 2013 will be cancelled. In the above photo, all guest provided their own costume, and therefore the requirements of loaner costuming from the Gasthaus was not an issue. A thankyou goes out to all who attended from Lady Christiana for if not for all attending to share the experience the event would have been unseccessful.

Do to reasons of pague, and mundane reasons the members of Phasiani lacus Manerium were unable to attend the event but that did not stop Lady Christiana in participation in the Arts and Sciences with her entery of weaving cards, and archery where she won the bowsman catagory for target shooting. Christiana also participate in an Arts project for Medieval Madness on Feb 11th 2012 where she assisted in making a number of heraldic decorative devices for the feast tables. The event was follow by a pot luck feast of which Christiana presented devil eggs, and she was also presented at closing court recognition in the arts and sciences and award for her wnning of the bowsman's archery tournament.
